colour with a rich malt body and floral hop aroma.
Hargreaves
Hill Pale Ale
This beer is
made the old fashioned way.
Malt, hops and
rainwater is all that's required to produce this full-flavoured,
hand crafted ale.
Sounds easy,
doesn't it? So how come all beer isn’t this good?
Little

Perth, this is a unique style of pale ale which displays
a great
balance of flavour and refreshment.

Holgate
Extra Special Bitter
Holgate ESB is
a traditional English-style, copper-coloured Bitter Ale.
It's
big on hops - both
bittering and aroma.
A special
blend of crystal and roast malts contribute to a
light
roast/nutty flavour that balances the bitterness.
What makes it
especially unique is that it is served at the Royston
at room
temperature, hand drawn from the cask.
And we now have
6 guest taps.
That means we
can showcase more of Australia's microbreweries, and you are likely
to be able to taste something different every time you visit the
Royston.
Here are some
examples of what you might expect...
Holgate
Pilsner
Holgate
Pilsner was the only Gold
Medal Winner in its class at the 2007 Australian International Beer
Awards. And its class was "European Style Lager (draught)", which
means it outscored many well known imported European brands.
This beer is the classic
ultra pale Bohemian style lager.
Brewed with bucket loads
of Saaz hops the Woodend Pilsener is characterised by a clean malt
palate with strong grassy & floral hop aroma.
Mountain
Goat Surefoot Stout
Mountain
Goat's Surefoot Stout. It's a robust, malt-driven ale combining
four Australian and imported malts plus some flaked barley for good
measure. English Goldings hops are added for bittering and to
balance out the malt sweetness.
Goat Brewer
Dave sums the stuff up well. "thick, rich, soft burnt-malt flavours
with a chocolate/licorice nose and burst of coffee in the back
palate...don't be afraid to drink it warm (8c is good)."
It's the ideal
winter warmer!
Hargreaves Hill
Porter
This porter is a dark ale brewed from
selected highly kilned varieties of malt, including chocolate malt
and carafa. These malts impart a deep mahogany colour and lend rich
flavours of chocolate, coffee and mocha to the mid palate. English
Goldings are used again to add further complexity and
bitterness.
