The charming front bar features a large horseshoe shaped bar jutting into the middle of the room. The bar dispenses the biggest range of micro or craft beers in Melbourne, including Mountain Goat, Little Creatures and Hargreaves Hill.

The menu includes the usual pub fare like parmas, fish & chips, burgers and steak. They are big, tasty and really well cooked by our experienced pub chef.

But we can recommend the "Chef's Specials" section of the menu. Try the 350g Porterhouse, or the Grilled Salmon, or the claypot of black rice and seafood.

Also on the blackboard is a list of wines by the glass and (did we mention this already) the most comprehensive list of microbrewery or craft beers in Melbourne.

By day the bar is bright and cheery. By night, it’s funky and atmospheric. On Wednesday nights, the Quizmeisters trivia night takes over the front bar but every other night it is filled with happy drinkers and diners, many of them locals who have walked the short distance from home, but also many from further afield who don’t mind travelling when the reward is such a cool bar.
